Adventures to Vancouver

Posted in VAncouver Adventures with tags , , on May 1, 2009 by bbobags

As always, I come back from any workshop fired up and the Album Epoca Photography Studio Success Tour  with Rob Provencher was no exception. I am so excited about the future of Yeosmith and what can be accomplished. My lovely husband and I were able to spend two days in Vancouver, which means that I was of course cruising with my camera. In our adventures, I came across some pretty interesting images. These are just straight out of the camera shots that I wanted to share.img_7388img_7367img_7379img_7385And really… who could resist this! Maybe I will start printing my portraits on this recycled Elephant poopoo paper!! Who knew? Interesting idea. I do wonder who came up with it? Oh that is a whole other blog topic isn’t it? Enjoy the sunshine!

Does it Really Matter if an Artist Can’t Spell? Really?

Posted in Uncategorized on April 23, 2009 by bbobags

I never said I could spell, but having looked over those images numerous times, through sorting and editing,  you would think that I wouldn’t have missed the S!  So…… feeling pretty silly at this point! Maybe that is why I failed grade twelve English. blog I guess it is off to the grocery store for me to crack open another can of Alphagetti. I am going to say it is due to my very strong sense of creativity that I missed the S in Yeosmith. I know sometimes I have blinders on, so it is nice to know that others are there to tell me. Apparently, playing with food with the alphabet is not a good thing at all, or maybe my camera should have spell check!! Here is an other one for you. That is where all the S’s went! Good thing I can laugh at myself.

Playing with Your Food Can Be FUN!

Posted in Uncategorized on April 22, 2009 by bbobags

Sometimes playing with your food is  fun! I tend to take a lot of pictures of food that I prepare, in a venture to create a unique cookbook, but who knows when it finished. In the meantime, I will keep playing with my food. Alphagetti has always been a fun one for me, as you can spell words. Note cards came to mind while I was spelling my words. So, you may see a note card in your mailbox with lovely noodle letters in the near future! Who doesn’t like getting a note card or postcard in the mail? I know I do, but these days not too many people us snail mail, as it were, but I plan on it. At any rate, here is a sneak peek….img_6278

A Stab at Fashion

As an artist, I find myself very busy, yet not getting anything done. So many ideas, so little time. I shoot many images that never see the light of day. My girl, Selina is the model for this shot. It was a Sunday, and I was not having a good day with the kiddies, feeling unprepared   for the shoot. I wanted to do some artistic work with the clothing Sculptures, that I created in University, but was unable to find them. So, I pulled out my wildly bright dresses. I do believe that they are just so excellent. I have not worn one in years and thought with my new brown background, it would fare very well. Of course, add in some sunglasses, which are a main ingredient in my wardrobe. Surely, I should have a hit, but as it were, I had lighting issues, just couldn’t wrap my head around it. Fortunately, Selina rocked it  out and I would like to thank her for that! This is probably the best of the bright dress. There are a few more, which I will share very soon. Cheers!

Maternity Pin-Ups

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on April 16, 2009 by bbobags

How beautiful is an expectant Mother? They just glow so magnificently  and I myself have never felt so sexy and beautiful, as I did when I was pregnant with my two babes. I totally love the old school pin-ups from days gone by and so, I thought that it would be fun to do a series of my own pin up images of the modern woman of today with the  style of yesterday. And.. the logical thing to do was to start with an idea that was not done in the old style pin-ups, as not many women would show their bellies, let alone do sexy photos such as these. I am planning to work on this collection until I feel it is complete, so keep your eyes peeled and ready! If you would like to see more, please go to www.yeosmith.com and look in the portfolio section. img_6658

Baby Bunnies

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on April 9, 2009 by bbobags

Spring is absolutely here. I am here to prove it. It has been spectacular weather lately here in Nanaimo, so my significant other, decided it was time to till the garden. Since, I have so much stuff going on in the garden…. with it warming up and all. As we were checking out the state of the garden, Jason reached down to pull out a dead plant. Under it was a pile of hair, which we both assumed that it was our dogs hair. Next thing I know, he is gone into the garage to get a torch, gasoline, a shovel and a piece of plywood. Before I would let him go that drastic on the supposed rats, I wanted to see for myself. Upon moving the fur, there was a little creature with large ears and brown fur. This certainly was no rat. Reaching in, I saw another. There were two baby boy bunnies, probably only a few days old. Their eyes still shut and they are so sweet.

Of course I wanted to keep them, but who am I to take someone’s sweet babies. I did have to take a photograph of them. Happy Spring! Enjoy all that life has to offer this Spring season. Open your mind and your heart to those people who treat you right! Learn, explore and laugh! Baby Boy BunniesHappy Spring.

Cheers,

Cassandra
